For those of us in the Soils District (mostly in the Southwood Riviera HOA), this presents risks because one way we manage the expansive soil is through regular watering to keep the moisture in the soil constant.
On behalf of the HOA, Mark Danziger spoke with the Public Works Department, who stated that they understood the issue, and that while limitations on landscape watering were going to be enforced, homeowners who were watering to maintain soil moisture and so protect their foundations would be given latitude.
The drought is real, and none of us should waste water - but don't damage your home by stopping watering either. Water before dawn, water regularly, and cut back as the days cool and we get rain (remember that?).
